i have reason to believe that my beloved digicam may be nearing the end of its very productive life. the protective cover that slides up to cover the lens when i turn it off doesnt slide anymore! oh no.... :(

a brief history...

this cam, a minolta dimage x, has been in faithful service for the past 2.5 years or so. my sister got it during her company d n d and erm... its been on loan to me since! did an 'upgrade' when i first got it by buying a case (yes it DIDNT come with one...grrrr), a 128mb sd card, and a spare batt. i love it so so much! its seen service with me in places like brunei (yes i brought it into the jungle.. erm... shhhhh!) and beautiful australia. sigh. i will miss it when its end comes, as will be for all electronic goods.

its residual value by now is probably close to nothing due to depreciation and the later generation dimages like the xi, xt, xg, xxxxxxx! but it's priceless imho. should i send it in for servicing? or should i let it rest soon.... argh!
