job search. it continues.

woke 'early' today to continue my search at the uni casual job svc. there was one for a driver/navigator but the navigator nids to know jap. heh. wells. it pays 20 an hr so no harm trying for the driver part yea? hope i get it. next was a job for digging a hole in prep for a spa installation in a garden. rang the person up and turned out it was someplace that settled worker's compensation matters and the person was tellin me abt a job agency that sought long term employment for ppl with disabilities. so no i dont qualify. was thinkin if i copied the wrong no. and tinkin whether i shld go back uni to re-check the info. which i did after i went to city for a short walk abt. turns out that its the correct place and all i had to do was to ask for a certain lady that the job advert came with. silly me. :P so it went that i had to get down to her place at 5.30-6pm to 'discuss' about it. when i got there, there was no one in and it was seriously a lil cold alr, not to mention dark (yes it gets dark by 6 now - winter). tried knocking and by the second time a french girl(cute) with RED hair + many piercings came out. shes not the owner but rather just some fren i spose living with the family. she was kind enuff to accompany me outside. soon another guy came. also someone from the uni. but. ANOTHER GUY?! i was a lil surprised cos the job was advertised for one guy and abt 2 days work. so in the end it was settled for a days work by two guys. damn. i'll have to look around more tomorrow i spose.

these are things that i would not normally do in sg i guess. but when the situation calls for it. anything goes. gardening (try that in sg..lol), general labouring (aka digging holes, moving stuff ard), kitchenhands, delivery. etc. ohwells, in there end its not too bad at all. some practice in communication skill, some excess spending cash, some chance to meet interesting ppl, and some chance to exp the aussie student's way of life. =)

that aside...

it was shuping's bday today. f.y.i shes one of my two housemates. wells, she turns twenty today and three of us(shups, ryan,me) had dinner at sizzler(yes its the same one) in innaloo(a suburb). why only 3 ppl? its cos thats the no. of 'poor thing' sg students left here. heh. all the others are either on the eastern coast or back home for the hols. btw shups is also goin to sydney. everyone's leaving.. i nid to save up! :P a very filling dinner was followed by the movie 'the day after tomorrow' which was not too bad imho. then it was back home. so tired. so very tired.

oh ya. heard frm my fren liz tt there was a major blackout back home. what is the world coming to? keke. that.. is another topic for another day. zzzzz....

*dreaming of my parcels*
